Civilians
The everyday citizen who is caught in the middle of two warring factions. Some may be aligned to one or the other but quite a few will be neutral and just want peace and a happy life.
You are expected to have a job because money doesn't come easily. As a business owner or employee. This can be at a regular time in example 9-5 or maybe in the nightlife business but irregular jobs are possible. Do you have a exceptional idea? Please contact GME if it is possible to implement it in our event!
See Running a Business how to own a business and the accompanying rules.
Spirit of the civilian
You are a civilian in a war torn country that has no central government that cares for them. You are reliant on your own actions and relations you build.
What we expect from civilian players:
- Immerse yourself in the world of the shadowstrike events
- Active participation in your business/occupation
- Interaction with your neighbours and village/city
- Your main focus is not gunplay, but roleplay
- During gameplay, GME can ask from you to do certain tasks for gameplay purposes
Uniform and gear
Civilians are not allowed to have camouflage pattern clothing. We play in a current day fictional eastern European country which is stuck in de past.
- Mood: 80's/90's eastern European clothing and vibe with a modern twist, like smartphones.
- No access to military equipment.
- Mesh and Dye masks are not allowed as they break the immersion too much
Unless otherwise specified by GME, these are the standard rules that apply
Weapons
The country of Tjardistan has a rugged flora and fauna. Therefore most civilians have a basic weapon in accordance of a permit. These are nothing fancy. For example a bolt action weapon, pistol or a barebone AK / M4 system. Maybe even something older from ww2
We expect the following the following from the CIV faction:
- No attachment if the weapon is semi-automatic.
Only 1 attachment if the weapon is bolt action:
The weapon has an optic. Like a hunting rifle.
- No red dots, eotechs or other modern equivalent!
- The weapon has a weapon light.
- The weapon has a support attachment (foregrip, sling, e.g.).
Unless otherwise specified by GME, these are the standard rules that apply

CS (Crimson Serpent)

We are no shadow. We are fire.
We are not terrorists. We are a movement of resistance! Founded by you, the workers, the farmers, the veterans, the students and mothers. Every step we take, we take towards freedom.
Tjardistan has been sucked dry for years by the ruling elite in Tjardograd. They trade away our resources to foreign influence, just for their own gain. Foreign powers who only see us as a cash cow and regard our people as cheap labor. Under their boot, our pride is squished and our lands carved apart.
Our goals are clear:
- The return of the sovereignty of Tjardistan, lead by us, the people
- An end to the looting of our resources by foreign companies
- Gone will be the corrupt elite who only think of their own, while we work to the bone and starve on a meager meal
- Self-government for our forgotten regions: from Heruvsk to the mines in Kharinsk
We don't kneel to kings, generals or oligarchs. The Crimson Serpent is born from the blood of our suppression and sustains on the anger of our neglected people
Join our cause. Rise up! Tjardistan is ours - not theirs.
– Central comity of the Crimson Serpent
CS - Crimson Serpent
Spirit of Crimson Serpents
You are part of an ultra-nationalist organization and your actions are ideologically in nature. This might mean being a slight nuisance to local government but it can also mean assassinations, bombings and other terrorist acts. To allow for such actions, you don't want to be identified and captured. Crimson Serpent is a faction that works from the shadows to grow.
What we like to see from CS players:
- Covert operating in a hostile territory.
- Creative thinking to achieve your goals and use everything you can (within limits of the rules) at your disposal.
- Trying to expand the influence of CS by (non)violent ways.
Uniform and gear
CS is allowed to wear one piece of camouflaged clothing. If CS would like to have a visual marking, they could use colored tape or cloth / bandages that they will use on their person.
CS as a faction will be mainly focused on staying hidden in the general public, therefore we recommend to also match their attire to the civilian population.
We expect the following for the CS faction:
Civilian-alike clothing. Blending in is the name of the game.
Coordinated markings like clothing/badges/colors to secretly convey your alliance.
- This can also give civilian players a possibility to secretly convey support.
Mesh and Dye masks are not allowed as they break the immersion too much
Unless otherwise specified by GME, these are the standard rules that apply
Weapons
CS will use what is at hand and most of the time this will be surplus weaponry, (il)legally obtained.
Therefore we expect the following for the CS faction:
Preferred Eastern Europe / Russian type weapon systems. Most of the time a little outdated.
- If these are not available, western weapons systems are allowed. Most of the time a little outdated as well.
The player can choose 2 of the following options:
- The weapon has an optic
- The weapon has a weapon light
- The weapon has a laser. See laser safety!
- The weapon has a support attachment (foregrip, sling, e.g.)
Unless otherwise specified by GME, these are the standard rules that apply

ICOS (International Coalition for Order and Stability)
The International Coalition for Order and Stability (ICOS) exists to ensure regional equilibrium through the restoration of lawful governance, the stabilization of conflict zones, and the upholding of sovereign integrity. Founded in response to prolonged instability in Tjardistan and growing threats from hostile blocs, ICOS is not an occupying force, but a collective security mechanism that delivers calibrated military, logistical, and diplomatic solutions.
ICOS functions on the principles of disciplined intervention, multinational cooperation, and coordinated civil-military planning. It is committed to preventing the spread of lawlessness, proxy warfare, and insurgent governance by maintaining a rapid, coherent, and rules-driven response framework. The internal doctrine prioritizes:
- Strategic deterrence against foreign interference
- Controlled force projection with political stabilization objectives
- Legitimization of post-conflict governance structures
- Protection of coalition interests and secure transit corridors
Spirit of ICOS
ICOS is a military force consisting of multiple nations. This means you will have to do as leadership says and act professionally. You are here to complete the objectives of the leadership. To achieve this, you will need to gather intel, carry out missions and maintain security all while doing this.
What we like to see from players:
- Following the chain of command.
- Actively sending information back to TOC.
- Professional mentality when it comes to mission execution.
- Work together with your fellow soldiers.
- Impression kits are appreciated
- Although you are military, this still means a level of roleplay is expected
Uniform and gear
There are no camo restrictions for ICOS. All camo’s can be used, but it must be a full camo set. If the person has an overgarment, like a raincoat or a softshell jacket, this doesn’t need to be in camouflage.
We expect the following for the ICOS faction:
Use a matching camo pattern to the AO and the time of the OP.
- Exception on softshells / hardshells.
- Exception on load bearing gear / PPE
- Check with your other ICOS members or within your platoon to all have the same camo pattern.(recommended, not required)
- Usage of PPE versus load bearing equipment should be decided based on the mission. There is no restriction on this.
- No limits on NVG or Thermal optics.
- Mesh and Dye masks are not allowed as they break the immersion too much
Weapons
Governments are behind your cause and thus money will be available for all the requirements to get the job done.
Therefore we expect the following for the ICOS faction:
- High end, modern weaponry. Matching your western or eastern gear.
No limits on any attachments
- Lasers see laser safety!

GME Staff member
At every GME event, there will be GME staff members. They can be recognised by a pin on their clothing and are introduced at the general briefing. GME Staff members are spreadout over the village and the other factions respectively.
GME staff members are “normal” characters, which means;
- They are interactable
- They can die
- They can be captured
- They can do whatever a standard participant can do.
GME staff members do have a god-mode, which means;
- When a GME staff member is needed elsewhere for organization purposes
- Or a GME staff member has to intervene somewhere for organization purposes.
The GME Staff can use “God-Mode”, in which he will break character. In these moments of god-mode, other players need to halt their interactions and leave the GME staff free to do their job.
GME Staff members will only use the “God-Mode” when it’s absolutely neccessary for the continuation or safety of the event. They’re not allowed to mis-use the God-mode.
They will also try to transfer their tasks upon other staff, so they won’t break the roleplay or the scenario that’s happening. Although this is not always possible
